Shopping List for Tree-Trimming Party

For this tree-trimming party, you gather friends and families for a kid-friendly Christmas craft evening. The menu offers delicious appetizers and eggnog in to heighten the Christmas cheer. Set up craft tables to let kids help make the candy garland and decorate cookies to hang on your tree.

To through this party, take this handy shopping list with you when you go for supplies:

  • 6 medium apples (8 ounces each), such as Cortland or Granny Smith

  • 1-1/8 cups chopped fresh dill

  • 2.2 pounds Brie (8-inch wheel)

  • 7 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 4 pounds salmon fillet

  • 384 3-inch cinnamon sticks

  • 3 cups cranberries

  • 10 slices dark pumpernickel bread

  • 4 loaves French bread

  • 8 juniper berries (optional)

  • Sugar or colored sugar (optional)

  • 1/2 cup apple cider

  • 4 cups brandy

  • 2 cups dark rum

  • 2 cups bourbon

  • 1/4 cup gin

  • Assorted vegetables for crudité

Because this party is built around making garlands, and candles, and decorating cookies, you will also need these craft items:

  • 400 pieces wrapped candy, such as sour balls in cellophane

  • 16 votive candles, cinnamon scented

  • 8 yards strong thread, such as nylon or waxed cotton

  • 16 plain-glass, straight-sided votive holders (1.75 inches across the bottom x 2.5 inches tall)

  • 8 yards thin ribbon (optional)

  • Glue gun with glue sticks

  • Needle
