How to Use AirPlay to Stream iPad Media
With AirPlay, you can stream media on your iPad 2 to your TV or audio speakers. Streaming technology allows you to send media from one device to play on another.
With AirPlay, you could send a movie or a slideshow of photos from your iPad to your TV. You could then control the playback on your TV from your iPad using the Remote app. You can also send music from your iPad to your audio speakers.
To use AirPlay to stream media, you have to have AirPlay-compatible equipment. For example, you might purchase an Apple TV device to stream video, photos, and music to your TV. If you can find a TV with AirPlay compatibility built-in, you can use that instead.
You might buy Airport Express and attach it to your speakers to stream music. Or you could buy an AirPlay-enabled receiver or set of speakers, and stream audio directly to them. If you’re not sure which device might best suit your needs, visit your nearest Apple Store and let their experts help you pick something out.
If you get a bit antsy watching a long movie, one of the beauties of AirPlay is that you can still use your iPad to check e-mail, browse photos or the Internet, or check your calendar while the media is playing.
