Lacrosse: Can Great Shooting Be Taught?
Adapted From: Lacrosse For Dummies

Do great lacrosse players have a touch, a natural thing, something they are born with? To a degree, some players are born with soft hands; that is, they can catch, throw, and shoot effortlessly and accurately. But most players have to put in the practice time to make themselves better shooters.

After you have mastered the proper mechanics of shooting, you have to practice every day to take your shooting skill to the next level. Confidence comes from taking 100 to 200 shots a day until you feel confident about where the ball is going and can hit that spot on the wall almost every time.

Soft hands come from having proper form: using your wrists, holding the stick with your fingers loose, extending your wrists back when cocking your stick, and then extending your wrists fully on the follow-through.
