Where you place your grill can affect its efficiency and your safety. Placement (of course) depends on how much room you have and how massive your grill is. But here are some general rules:
- Use the grill outdoors only! Never grill in your trailer, tent, house, garage, or any enclosed area.
- Place the grill away from anything and we mean anything that could possibly be construed as being flammable: piles of leaves or dry grass; structures of any kind; gasoline and any machines containing gasoline, especially automobiles; paint and aerosol cans; newspapers; awnings; children's toys; and trees.
- If you place the grill on a wooden deck, it's a good idea to use a deck protector under the grill. You can find one in most hardware stores.
- Don't place your grill in the path of strong winds, which may tend to stir up the embers and make them fly.
- Stay close to your kitchen for easy access to platters, utensils, and food.
- When grilling at night, place the grill near a light source.
