Infants and children who show signs of atopic dermatitis (such as eczema) are often at a greater risk of subsequently developing other allergies. If your child has eczema and other signs of atopic dermatitis, watch out for other types of symptoms, such as coughing, a scratchy throat, or runny nose. Instead of indicating a cold, these symptoms may serve as early warning signs of allergic rhinitis and/or asthma.
