HDTV For Dummies, 2nd Edition
Download Music and Videos at Apple iTunes Store
Adapted From: HDTV For Dummies, 2nd Edition

The most popular place on the Internet for legal audio downloads is the <Apple iTunes> Store [http://www.apple.com/itunes]. In its evolution, Apple changed the name of the store from "iTunes Music Store" to just plain old "iTunes Store" for a reason: Apple has branched out way beyond plain old audio and has begun selling tons (millions!) of videos. Here's what you need to know about iTunes:

  • To access the iTunes Store, you need to use Apple's iTunes application (available for free download for Mac OS X and Windows).
  • The videos for sale as we write are optimized for display on a PC or an iPod screen -- not for your big-screen HDTV. We think this will change shortly, based upon Apple's forthcoming iTV device, and that Apple will soon begin offering HDTV downloads.

As it stands today, you can purchase and download hundreds of TV shows and a growing number of full-length movies.
