Dealing with a Dictator at Work
Adapted From: Rookie Teaching For Dummies

One of the most common species of administrator, the Dictator, is also the easiest to spot. His list of rules and regulations for the workplace is a mile long, and he expects each one to be followed. The best way to deal with a Dictator supervisor is simply to comply with his or her wishes, unless you're ready for battle. As soon as you identify yourself as a conscientious objector to the Dictator's plans, you're branded for life, and you'll find out how a disgruntled supervisor can make every day miserable for you. So try your best to follow the rules, even the stupid ones (especially when the Dictator is watching), thereby identifying yourself as an ally. When the Dictator trusts you, he'll view you as an adult and will be more willing to cut you some slack.
